On Wednesday, we will talk about the blog assignment, finish our presentations and work on our Professional Blogs.
1. For the blog assignment, go to this blog

and read the "I am an optimist" by Mr. McClung, a sixth grade teacher and right a paragraph about your thoughts and reactions to his blog post.
2. We have four students who need to present on Wednesday.

EDM 310 assignments for Monday June 22nd
Class,
Thank you for such a great week of presentations. We still have 4 students to present and we will have them present on Monday.

EDM 310 assignments for Wednesday June 17th

There is no blog due today. I was unexpectedly sick yesterday and did not make it into work. I was going to post a blog assignment due today but was down most of the day.
Today, we will have the rest of the class do their presentations. I was really impressed by the presentations we had on Monday and look forward to seeing the rest today.

EDM 310 class and assignments for Monday June 15th
Class,
For Monday, I would like you all to read the reflection of Dr. Strange pertaining to the educational transition from the 3 R's to the 6 C's. Write a paragraph about what you think and if you agree. Also, try and come up with something that you think might be shifting in education also and let us know. Here is the link:

Also, I have decided to use both Monday and Wednesday next week to do our presentations. Half the class will go on Monday and the other half will go on Wednesday. Today (Monday), was another great class. Everyone did a great job on the iGoogle pages and the Google Reader RSS feeds. Keep up the good work!
For Wednesday June 10th, we will do the following:
1. We will discuss the blog assignment No "BurpBack" Education!. http://strangejpb.blogspot.com/2008/10/no-back-education_22.html .I want you to read this very interesting and powerful reflection by Dr. Strange. Post a blog about how you feel after reading this reflection. This is one of the many reflections that Dr. Strange has been using in revamping EDM 310. As future teachers, let us know what you think.
2. We will spend most of Wednesday preparing for our Google Presentations in class.

We had a great discussion and I look forward to seeing all of your links to interesting articles pertaining to technology or issues that are interesting for this course. I have graded all of the material from this week and it is posted in eCollege. Take a look at it and let me know if you have any questions.

2. We will talk about RSS feeds and Google Reader.
3. We will work on our Google presentations.
4. We will take a short survey on Plagiarism.

Review at least two sites that you find and write a paragraph on each that gives the other students a sense of how blogs are being used in the examples that you find. For example, if you find a school in Minnesota that is using blogs, summarize their use in five or six sentences. Do the same for another example. Include in your post links that work to the sites that you find. ATQS (3)(c) 1.(iii); (3)(c) 4.(i); (3)(c) 4.(ii)
2. Search the web for at least two INTERNATIONAL schools or teachers using blogs in K-12 classrooms. Write a summary for each site in the same manner that you used for U.S. blogs. Include in your post links that work to the sites that you find.
